On November 26, 2019, at the invitation of Professor Feng Shi, the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering, Professor Sheng Zhang, the Polymer Research Institute, Sichuan University, and Professor Jiwei Cui, the Key Laboratory of Colloid and Interface Chemistry, Ministry of Education, Shandong University, came to our school for an academic visit and made a interesting speech respectively.
In the report of research and application of molecular aggregation based on self-assembly of cyclodextrins, Professor Sheng Zhang firstly introduced the structure and properties of cyclodextrins: as the main structure of macrocyclic host molecule, cyclodextrins are a kind of cyclopolysaccharides formed by amylase degradation, which show excellent molecular bonding ability to a variety of organic **all molecules, ions and polymers. Then, the related works based on the molecular assembly of cyclodextrin were introduced. Firstly, they used the host guest interaction between cyclodextrin and guest molecules as the driving force of self-healing, and combined cyclodextrins with titanium dioxide, ferric oxide, quantum dots and other materials to construct a series of self-healing functional materials. Next, they applied special MOF structure formed by the assembly of cyclodextrin and metal ions to explore its applications in the biomedical field as a gas messenger and formaldehyde gas absorption.
In the report of controllable assembly and biomedical application of polymer colloid, Professor Jiwei Cui firstly put forward the concept of polymer colloid, leading to the understanding and exploration of the interaction between colloid and biological system to overcome the problem of physiological barrier in vivo. Professor Jiwei Cui mainly introduced the following two aspects: Firstly, they proposed the interaction and application in intravenous drug delivery system. They explored the effect of the colloid particles in targeted drug delivery and the application in the integration of multi-functional drug carrier diagnosis and treatment through the construction of invisible polyethylene glycol colloid particles and flexible polyethylene glycol particles; Furthermore, polyphenol based colloidal particles and injectable sprayed hydrogels were applied in self-healing, hemostasis, skin repair, and bone repair.
At the end of the report, teachers and students have in-depth communications with Professor Sheng Zhang and Professor Jiwei Cui in different directions.
