On April 27, 2021, at the invitation of Professor Feng Shi, the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resources Engineering, Professor Yuguang Ma, South China University of Technology, visited BUCT and gave a lecture of Progress of New-generation OLED Materials.
In the lecture, Prof. Ma compared organic and inorganic semiconductors regarding the exciton binding energy and introduced the progress of new-generation OLED materials. In particular, he demonstrated some material systems proposed by Chinese scientists. Prof. Ma’s research group used the emission of triplet state of metal complex materials to prepare light-emitting devices, which expanded the system of light-emitting materials and provided a new way to improve the efficiency of devices. He proposed the idea of hot exciton in 2012 and found the hot exciton material in 2014 which can use the excited state energy more effectively. The experimental and theoretical studies in the new generation of OLED materials is expected to promote the relevant research. After the lecture, the audience had a fruitful discussion session with Prof. Ma.
Professor Yuguang Ma is from School of Materials Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology and is the director of the State Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials and Devices .
